  • A one OR two-day, hands-on class focused on exploring floral design with lenses of elements & principles of design as well as strong color theory.

    Perfect for designers who already have experience but want to dive deeper into the craft.

    This class is made for the other passionate artists out there who want to dive deeper into this craft, using local seasonal flowers.

    A strong emphasis is also placed on capturing your florals, & what it means to market yourself & your art!

Meet Karis

Two of my great loves: flowers & then puzzling out how to capture them. After six years of working in many different facets of the floral industry, & playing with photography for many years before that, I have found that my artistic process with a bloom is not fully complete until I can both design with them & successfully capture them. 

After sharing some of my favorite photo/video tips & tricks online through IG, I have quickly found how many fellow florists are passionate about this subject with me! I am now on a journey to continue learning how to blend these two mediums, all while sharing that with my industry peers through mentorships & group classes.

Mentorship objectives 

Goal 1: Work together to learn new techniques within small-scale design (bouquets, centerpieces) to build your confidence while focusing on discovering your own creative process & style
Goal 2: Dive into the elements & principles of design to study how to create more artful florals. A heavy emphasis is placed on color theory! 
Goal 3: Finally, capture those designs with the tool of each student’s choice (digital, phone, film)- focusing on basic photography skills & lighting principles that can be brought back to your home studio to market yourself & your artwork

Investment

Exploring floral style & mechanics to practice creating designs that are movement-filled, unique, modern, & seasonal, with many bloom types. Together, we will create (at least) a handheld bouquet as well as a centerpiece. Customizable to focus on additional floral pieces as well. Payment plans available.

$2250 (payment plans avaliable)

+ A full day together in the studio (8+ hours)
+ An optional 15 minute intro call before the class to talk about pain points & create a plan of action for our in-person session
+ A personalized & private class created specifically for your needs

+ An abundant collection of specialty & locally grown flowers to design with
+ Styling items to create a tablescape alongside florals

+ A focus on photography as we complete each arrangement

+ 10 to 20 film photos by Karis

    If it’s a fit, we’ll move forward to officially reserve your mentorship.

You’ll be first in line for the November round- and there will be more opportunities to flower together.
  4. We email back & forth regarding details, and then your date is set with a 50% deposit
  5. I create a mood board & schedule for our day
  6. The day arrives! And we flower our hearts out together (and then capture it all on camera)
