  • Because artistry deepens when you give yourself space to look, breathe, and respond to the world around you.

“This retreat was born from the coastline itself—the fog, the grasses, the wildness. I wanted to come back here and teach florists what it feels like to create in rhythm with the land.” -Karis

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This retreat is for anyone who loves flowers—whether you’re a seasoned florist, a creative soul craving a reset, or someone returning to art after a long season of busyness. All experience levels are welcome.

This is not a high-pressure production workshop.
It’s a spacious, restorative week designed for artistic expansion, creative curiosity, and the kind of beauty that only comes from making in a place that feels like a deep breath.

TWO ways to join

1 // choose your room & stay on site-for the week, total relaxation & rest over 4 days, 5 nights

2 // Workshop Only experience: stay off-site, travel in each of the 3 main design days

Day-by-day breakdown

DAY 1 — Arrival, Settling In, Welcome Dinner

For those staying on site- arrive at the property anytime after 2pm, explore the acreage, breathe in that first rush of coastal air, and make yourself at home. We’ll ease into the week with a slow welcome dinner.

DAY 2 — Bouquets + Centerpieces (all)

Our first full design day with all participants, with a morning demo. After lunch, the studio opens for continued exploration, photography, wandering, or rest. Ending the day with dinner for those staying on-site

DAY 3 — Installation Begins (all)

Today we start a site-specific installation built in collaboration with the land itself. Jesse will guide us through creating with natural materials—grasses, branches, textures found on the property. Ending the day with dinner for those staying on-site.

DAY 4 — Installation Continued / Tablescape / Formal Dinner (all)

We’ll complete the installation in the morning, with a photography window to capture the final work.
The afternoon shifts toward tabletop styling- layering dishes, tones, textures, and light to create evocative small-scale scenes.
We close the day with a formal dinner, styled intentionally with the work created earlier: a night that feels a little celestial, a little mid-century, and very celebratory for all attendees!

DAY 5 — Choose-Your-Own Morning + Departure

A gentle final day for those staying on the property. Spend the morning however you’d like: take photos, finish a personal piece, walk the trails, or savor the quiet with coffee in hand. Pack up by 10am and depart inspired, and carrying a softer, clearer artistic voice home with you.

  • Land and Sea is intentionally small and community-focused. We prioritize creating a space where attendees feel safe, supported, and able to fully engage creatively. Mutual respect, clear communication, and honoring personal boundaries are essential to the experience.

  • Yes. All participants are expected to contribute to a respectful and inclusive atmosphere. This includes being mindful of personal boundaries and engaging with others in a professional and considerate way.

  • Max 12! We wanted to keep this small and intentional.

    6 may be staying on-site, with a max of 6 from off-site.

  • The main focus is going to be on material, and how to work natural elements (pinecones, branches, rocks, whatever is outside right now) in together with floral heavy elements that are seasonal. Showing how you bring elements of nature into the idea of what folks may think is “pretty” for a wedding design.

  • Both! That is really up to you. We will be teaching installation design on one day, and following there will be time to join in a group install with Jesse.

But if you prefer to design smaller items on your own, you can!
