Exlore the wonders of film photography during this 2-day workshop highlighting local spring flowers alongside 3 floral professionals.
We are deeply passionate about the two fantastic art mediums- floral design & film photography- and can’t wait to create with you during this special workshop.
Dates: March 2-3, 2026 from 9am to about 5pm each day
Location: Cielo Hills Farm in Escondido, CA (San Diego County) with an optional off-site evening tour at Lindsey’s Farm in Encinitas
(Cielo Hills Farm is about 45 to 60 minutes from downtown San Diego, or 35 minutes from coastal Oceanside)
Instructors: Taught by three California based gals: florists Karis and Lindsey, and flower farmer Eleanor. Combined, we have over 10 years of photography experience with a particular love for using a film format. You can find out a bit more about each florist’s individual journey on the main workshop page.
What to expect:
+Live lectures, with design demos by both Karis and Lindsey for centerpieces.
+Farm tours of two flower-farm properties (make sure to bring good footwear and hats! We will be outside regardless of weather for this time)
+Pre-cut selections of spring flowers, sourced locally, with a wide variety of bloom types to allow your creative soul to use whatever you love most
+Hands-on floral design time as you create your own centerpiece or table vignettes with the provided materials. Karis and Lindsey will be there to assist as needed through the process with a small class of about 14.
+Film photography lessons, for folks who are just above basic knowledge of their own cameras
*please note, while we will be touching on both digital photography and using your phone to capture images, this will be focused largely on film! We suggest you bring your own camera for the best experience.
+Time to shoot your own photos/videos with several photo backdrops each day
+A lunch, snacks, and drinks each day
+All tools and materials needed to design
WHO should take this workshop?
+Florists of all levels who love photography & either have worked with film OR who are familiar with digital photography and want to dive into the medium
+Anyone who loves flowers and want to learn to capture them more effectively
+Film nerds (like the three of us)!

$1850
(optional payment plan for a 50% deposit, the final 50% will be due 4 weeks before the workshop date)
Cancellation policy: Cancellations made at least 5 weeks before the workshop will receive a full refund. For cancellations within one month of the workshop, a 50% refund (of the total cost) may be issued if we cannot fill your spot. If another student registers in your place, a full refund will be provided.
